Memphis Burger with Southern Slaw
Head to the Bluff City with this Memphis Burger with Southern Slaw recipe from yours truly and sponsored by Omaha Steaks.
MEMPHIS BURGER WITH SOUTHERN SLAW
Ingredients
4 8oz. Omaha Steaks Private Reserve Angus burger patties
¼ cup of your favorite barbecue dry rub seasoning
16 oz. pulled pork
¼ cup barbecue sauce*
2 cups tangy slaw (recipe follows)
4 hamburger buns
Instructions
Prepare grill for high heat cooking. Season both sides of the burger patties liberally with barbecue dry rub seasoning. Make a small indentation in the center of each burger with your thumb (this will ensure that the burger maintains an even thickness and doesn’t plump up in the center while cooking). Place the burger patties on the grill and cook for approximately 4 minutes per side for medium rare (130-135 degrees internal temperature). Remove the burgers from the grill.
To assemble the burgers, top each bottom bun with ¼ cup of tangy slaw, a burger patty, 4 ounces of pulled pork, barbecue sauce and the top bun.
* Omit the sauce if using prepared pulled pork from the grocery store as it has been pre-sauced.
